The Final Assignment

Last weekend, I formally graduated from DigiPen after 4 years, wrapping up 17 years of education - but not before I was given one last assignment: to write and deliver a speech on behalf of the four graduating classes from the RTIS, BSGD, BAGD, and BFA programs from DigiPen Institute of Technology Singapore.

I shared a few nostalgic memories and my earnest hope that our cohort will always continue to imagine a greater version of themselves, and never stop inventing new strategies to overcome seemingly impossible challenges — just like how games inspire us to prevail against all odds thrown our way.

Our lecturers taught us the technical skills required to develop stellar projects – but over countless modules, the true lesson that they have taught us - was how to develop ourselves into visionaries of the modern world. Thank you for challenging us to reach beyond the visible universe, that we may now lie among the stars.

I thank God for the twists and turns of life, and my parents for their unwavering support in nurturing a child with a unique passion. Thank you for believing in me!

I'm honored to be bestowed this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I hope that the boundless passion that fills our cohort will continue to inspire generations of game developers to stop at nothing when chasing their dreams!
